January 2018 update–I haven’t worked on this project in six months. When I go back to revise again, I will have a brand new playlist.
Here’s what I was listening to a while ago:
I obsessively listened to Pop Psychology* by Neon Trees while I wrote the first 100 pages. Then two paths diverged in a yellow wood and I added these songs to the playlist:
Dangerous, Big Data featuring Joywave
Dreaming, Small Pools (loved seeing these guys live)
The Silence, Bastille (Tell me a part of your history…)
I Wanna Get Better, Bleachers
Kids, Saint of Valory
Arrows, Fences
Things We Lost in the Fire, Bastille
This is Me, Demi Lovato with a little help from The Jonas Brothers (no hating)
Then I went into the way back for these gems:
Ocean Avenue, Yellowcard (This song may be the subconscious genesis of this book. It is so filled with sadness, pain and longing, at least for me.)
Walking After You, Foo Fighters
Creep, Radiohead (I want a perfect soul. Never gets old.)
Don’t Let Me Get Me, Pink
Head Like a Hole, NIN
Talking Loud and Clear, OMD
Do You Wanna Touch Me? Joan Jett (I adore Joan Jett.)
Just Like Honey, The Jesus and Mary Chain (This song plays at the end of Lost in Translation, one of my all time favorite movies. I also love Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere, but I digress.)
Rockin’ Back Inside My Heart, Julee Cruise
Welcome to Paradise, Green Day (Dookie is my fave Green Day album. Every freakin’ song.)
Basket Case, Green Day
*If you love pop alt and you don’t have Pop Psychology, get thee to iTunes.
